Hey guys (and girls)
My name is Randy and I'm looking to pick as many brains on this site as possible.
The situation: A week ago, my son-in-law called me to tell me about some guns he found really cheap from an older, widowed lady near Eau Claire WI. As he spoke to her, she mentioned she had several old tractors and an old rusty car she wanted to get rid of. When Todd walked around the barn, he almost fell over. Sitting in a patch of weeds was a 1966 Barracuda. He's not into restoration but he knew I was so he took pictures and e-mailed them to me. The woman says the car was driven there shortly after her husband died 10 years ago and left to rot. It was his car and she couldn't deal with his loss at the time. She has a title and she told Todd he could have it just to get it out of there. I'm picking it up this weekend.
I owned a body shop for nearly 15 years and although I now am a sports and outdoors writer and photographer, I enjoy restoring old cars and trucks. I had a kidney transplant last April and my RX says doing this is absolutely great for my health.
Now, can someone tell me just what I fell into here? Are there parts available for this sweetheart? I know little about Chryslers, but I had a 1967 Cuda when I was a youngster and loved it. I drag raced a 1969 Z28 Camaro for four years and had great success at it. My worst enemy then was the 340-six pack Dusters and Hemi Cudas, etc. Great and fast.
I want to make this car the very best I can. I've got some extra cash laying around, I have the time, I just need you guys to take me by the hand a little here.
Randy
